PSS, A temporary tdiu rating will always get reduced. Unless mojor complications arise. A permanent tdiu rating usually has been shown an inability to retain " gainful employment ". And , you meet the prerequisite rating mandates. So , tdiu is usually not an easy rating but 309k vets have it. Taking it is not what the VA does WITHOUT GOOD CAUSE !

PS , The VA must use the "Clear And Convincing " standard when reviewing tdiu removal. This standard is below "Proof Of Reasonable Doubt" but above "Preponderance Of Evidence " . In real world talk : Not easy to do. Clear and Convincing is exactly how it sounds. (Look it up). If , you get a VA notice that they are considering taking tdiu it can be effectively stopped for a year while you make them show that they used this standard of proof. If fraud or employment violations are shown you lose. ANYTHING ELSE IS HARD TO PROVE !!!!

I have crones/ibs,they have me on stilara . Also sleep apnea. It sounds like I m a #3 even on stillara . Every time I call DAV I get a recording that tells me to call back later. What are my options

Any veteran who went through BMT and the firing range without protective ear devices, had ringing after firing or with larger dB's exposure devices, cannon, that is a service connection often not considered. Does not have to be combat related. From late 1960's, Firing a M-16 generated 165 dB pf sound which can be direct cause for Tinnitus. One exposure at that level is all it takes for Tinnitis and is irreversible. There were no enforced guidelines for ear protection devices until late 1980's. Look up and understand what the decibel level was related to what you were exposed to. Get ENT doc to examine you, provide your history, get tested and ask him given your evidence for a Nexus letter.

My tinnitus has morphed into a loud constant ringing and I have fallen on three occasions and look for things that are solid to touch for balance , also extremely tired all the time, I have a 70% disability pts and tinnitus , I’ve had this since 69 Vietnam , I took disability about 15 years ago and I could live with meds and therapy but now I’m having a hard time getting through the day without sleeping it’s that debilitating, having a brain scan July 4 at 7 am

I too was exposed to many Toxic Chemicals which a Jet Engine Mech on the USS Ranger CV-61. We had JP-5 jet fuel in our fresh water SUPPLY ALL THE TIME, we had to drink and shower in it. As a mech we got socked in JP-5 all the time. Plus had to use TEC, MEK, Liquid freon, Eng oils, Hydraulic Fluid, AFFF. While in Drydock in Bremerton Washington we had signs all over saying Asbestos, Ships paint, Dust, welding fumes and etc. VA needs to stop playing games. I too had to get a lawyer based on my first claims denied. Many of these chemicals effect many things in one's body. Hearing loss, Diabetics issues, nerve issues and etc. HLR reviewer agreed sent it back to get fixed. Been in HLR hands for a year. Unacceptable.

My examiner just straight up told me I was one of the worst she had ever seen. It probably aided my case that I had to drive an hour through traffic to get there and managed to spill coffee all over myself because my hands were shaking so much. So I showed up sweaty, irritated, covered in coffee, disheveled, and I couldn't find the right floor in the building so if they were observing me at all through security cameras, they would have seen me cowering away from people, paralyzed with indecision.

Previous customer here. Question that you might have a simple answer for. Filed for GERD in June 2022, rated 0% in December 2023. Planned on filing a HLR or supplemental and having my private gastro fill out a DBQ and letter explaining my symptoms on and off meds and how they affect my life. Just found out about this change for GERD. If I file the supplemental, do you think I'll be rated under the old or new rating schedule? I should be at least 10% under the old one (possibly even 30%), and could possibly be 10% under the new one.

So, if there is an option to help a servicemember, rated at 100% P&T, with extreme pain stemming from spondylolisthesis and bilateral radiculopathy, the servicemember SHOULD NOT attempt to relieve that with surgery? Asking for a friend.

The VA's process of deciding what is and what is not compensable via the C&P exam is largely useless. I am a prime example. I probably had 1-2 headaches per year until my last deployment. Our convoys drove directly through burn pits and we were exposed to other airborne pollutants and now I have headaches at least 2-3 times a week. VA determined I do in fact have headaches/migraines but the condition is "not service connected". Make that make sense.
